It is with great pleasure that we invite you to participate in the 34th Panhellenic Congress of Surgery and International Surgical Forum 2025, which will be held from November 19th to 23rd, 2025, at Megaron Athens International Conference Centre.

The Hellenic Surgical Society aspires to respond in the best possible way to the particular needs and demands of Greek surgeons for continuous postgraduate education and updates in their field of expertise. Surgery remains the most fundamental interventional therapeutic specialty in medicine and serves as the strongest pillar supporting all surgical specialties, most surgical subspecialties, and nearly all medical specialties. The primary goal of the upcoming congress is to inform attendees about the latest medical developments in the treatment of surgical diseases and to highlight the challenges faced by Greek surgeons in their daily medical practice.

Key topics to be discussed during the congress include recent advances in medical technology and their clinical applications, the integration of artificial intelligence into healthcare, emerging data in molecular biology and oncology, population aging and the increasing prevalence of comorbidities among surgical patients, the management of patients undergoing complex treatments for medical conditions, morbid obesity, microbial resistance and the development of new antimicrobial agents, the safety of medical instruments and procedures, as well as the environmental impact of surgical practice.

The training of young surgeons has always been a central focus of all congresses organized by the Hellenic Surgical Society. Through the comprehensive participation of medical specialists from the public, private, and academic sectors, as well as surgical residents, we hope to foster a productive exchange of ideas and experiences within the framework of well-organized scientific events in a friendly and educational environment. Moreover, nurses and medical students will also have the opportunity to participate in the congress. Finally, the presence of distinguished colleagues from international centers, as well as from other medical specialties, will further enhance the high quality of the congress.
